Kentucky Crafted

Kentucky Crafted is an adjudicated program that provides assistance to Kentucky visual and craft artists through marketing, promotional opportunities and arts business training. Visual and craft artists must jury into the program to become eligible for the Kentucky Crafted Market and other sponsored events.

Kentucky's Poet Laureate

On April 24, 2025, Kathleen Driskell was inducted as the 2025-2026 Poet Laureate during Kentucky Writers' Day. Driskell is a talented, award-winning poet, essayist, and teacher who has authored of six poetry collections.

Teaching Art Together Grant

The Teaching Art Together Grant enables teachers to implement artist residencies in their classrooms. Teachers and artists work in partnership to design and implement the residencies.

Poetry Out Loud Registration

Poetry Out Loud is a national arts education program that encourages the study of great poetry by offering free educational materials and a dynamic recitation competition for high school students across the country. This program helps students master public speaking skills, build self-confidence, and learn about literary history and contemporary life. Poetry Out Loud is a partnership of the Kentucky Arts Council, the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and the Poetry Foundation.

We believe the arts should be accessible to all Kentuckians.

The Kentucky Arts Council is the state arts agency and is responsible for developing and promoting support for the arts in Kentucky. The mission of the Kentucky Arts Council is to foster environments for the people of Kentucky to value, participate in, and benefit from the arts.
