Lydia Bailey Brown Dear Arts Lovers:

Summer may be winding down, and many areas of Kentucky are less than a month away from back-to-school, but there are still plenty of engaging activities to fill your days and touch your spirit.

Throughout the summer on our Facebook and Twitter pages, we’ve been highlighting the Kentucky Department of Tourism’s 99 Days of Summer promotion, specifically the activities they have selected that are arts-related. Our sister agency in the Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet recognizes the importance of the arts as a driver of summertime activities and, more importantly, a way to bring families together. Take a look at the 99 Days of Summer calendar and make your plans today!

Reminder for military families – Blue Star Museums
There are also unique opportunities for families of active military members. Museums participating in the National Endowment for the Arts Blue Star Museums initiative offer free admission to active military members and their families at select museums through Labor Day.
