Mark your calendars and make plans now to join the Kentucky Arts Council for the fourth annual Kentucky Creative Industry Summit Tuesday, Dec. 5, at the Morehead Conference Center in Morehead, Ky.

The Summit will feature presentations and workshops on a broad array of topics for those who work in creative fields and are interested in growing and supporting the creative industry in Kentucky.

Featured at the Summit will be:

  • An introduction to the National Endowment for the Arts Creative Forces Initiative that presents partnership opportunities for artists, arts organizations and communities interested in supporting the well-being of military service members, veterans and their families at Fort Campbell Army Base in Fort Campbell, Ky.

  • Learning and workshop topics that include advanced social media and marketing training; legal issues for artists; how to create podcasts; pricing for artists; generating new accounts; working with retailers; and more!

  • Panel discussions about the USDA Homegrown/Handmade project; and creative youth workforce development.

This year’s Summit features training opportunities to individuals working in the creative industry through four learning tracks – one for visual artists and another for performing artists, a third for those interested in community arts topics, and a fourth learning track in the afternoon on arts education and workforce development.

This year’s one-day conference is $15 and includes a boxed lunch. A full agenda can be found on the arts council’s website.
