Teaching Art Together Grant

What is it?

The Teaching Art Together Grant lets teachers collaborate with practicing, professional artists on the design and implementation of innovative one-to-four-week residencies. Residencies provide teachers with the tools to continue to incorporate the arts into the curriculum after the residency is completed.

Who is eligible?

Any teacher at a Kentucky public or private school that supports preschool through grade 12.

Any representative of a nonprofit or public organization in Kentucky with full -time staff providing education to minors, such as juvenile detention centers or residential group homes.

What's the deadline to apply?

Application Window 1 (For residencies Oct. 1, 2021 – April 30, 2022):
August 1, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time

Application Window 2 (For residencies Jan. 1, 2022 – April 30, 2022):
November 1, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern time

How do I apply?

  1. Carefully review the guidelines.
  2. Select an artist for the residency from the Teaching Artists Directory. Arts council staff can help you.
  3. Work with the artist to develop a residency plan to take place within the allowed range of dates above.
  4. Notify your administrators that you intend to apply for this grant and ensure that you have their approval.
  5. Complete the application.
