Al Smith Individual Artist Fellowship
Due to budget cuts which are affecting all Kentucky Arts Council programs, the FY2022 Al Smith Individual Artist Fellowship will not be open for applications.
What is it?
The Al Smith Individual Artist Fellowship is a $7,500 unrestricted award given to a Kentucky artist who has achieved a high level of excellence and creativity in their work.
Whos eligible?
Professional Kentucky choreographers and musical composers who are responsible for creating their own work, not interpreting the work of others.
Whats the deadline to apply?
Completed applications and all required materials must be submitted no later than 4 p.m. Eastern, March 27, 2020.
How do I apply?
- Carefully review the program guidelines.
- Prepare work samples for submission.
- Complete and submit the online application.
If I receive an award, what are my responsibilities?
- Sign a grant agreement form.
- Submit a final report at the end of the fiscal year.
- Acknowledge the Kentucky Arts Council when promoting your work. (How?)
- Let your legislators know that you've received this honor and invite them to events that
feature your work. (Who are my elected
officials?)
