Jenny Zeller was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. She holds a bachelor of arts in arts
administration from the University of Kentucky. She moved to Key West, Florida, shortly upon
graduating, where she evolved as an artist and as an individual. In addition to founding Off
the Beaten Path Productions, which produced artistic events showcasing local artists in alternative
spaces, she served as long-time director of two prominent galleries, both with a focus in
international art and artifacts.
As an artist, Zeller explores the possibilities of the photographic medium, shifting her focus from traditional darkroom processing to incorporating mixed media and experimental printmaking. Early in her career, she was named the Monroe County recipient of the prestigious South Florida Cultural Consortium Award for her documented images of Haiti, developed in the style of 19th century photographs. Numerous local grants and funding followed, with an extended residency at the Nantucket Island School of Art and Design awarded by the Rodel Foundation in 2006.
