As chair of the board of directors of Glasgow-based South Central Bank, Ruthie Bale has been a positive force in that financial institution’s support of the arts in the surrounding region. Through Bale’s advocacy, South Central Bank has been one of the largest supporters of Bowling Green’s Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center, SKyPAC. The bank is also a continued supporter, with musician Tony Lindsey, of the Son Rhea Foundation, which places musical instruments in schools throughout the region, ensuring all students have access to music.

In addition, South Central Bank and the Bale family have supported Horse Cave Theatre and the Downing Arts Exhibit in Horse Cave, which brought awareness to artist Joe Downing’s work. Under Bale’s leadership, the bank has been an ongoing supporter Glasgow’s Plaza Theatre programming and capital campaigns. The bank has encouraged high school musical productions through sponsorships and attendance at performances.

Through Bale’s stewardship and commitment, she has instilled in the South Central Bank board a belief in the value of all artistic disciplines, including theater, dance, music and visual art.
