First Southern National Bank First Southern National Bank founder and chairman Jess Correll

First Southern National Bank and its founder and chairman Jess Correll have been a driving force for the arts in Lincoln and surrounding counties. Founded in 1982, the bank has recently acquired the Greene A. Settle collection of 235 paintings by Lexington artist Henry Faulkner, and is committed to keeping the collection intact. The artwork is on exhibit, traveling among the various First Southern branches throughout the state, bringing Faulkner’s work to a larger audience.

For the past 15 years, First Southern has been a key supporter of Danville’s Pioneer Playhouse. In addition to its financial support, the bank encourages its employees, friends and associates to attend plays at Pioneer Playhouse, an even firmer commitment to build a relationship between art and community.

First Southern also underwrites performances at Lancaster’s Grand Theatre, including a concert by the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra and a performance of “The Nutcracker” ballet.
