Greenville’s award-winning downtown area has been transformed significantly by the addition of several pieces of public art. A life-size statue of the War of 1812 veteran Lt. Ephraim M. Brank prominently stands in the Veterans Mall area near the Muhlenberg County Courthouse. Another major piece is the 9/11 Memorial, which memorializes first responders and is one of the few such displays that features an actual beam from the Twin Towers destroyed in the 9/11 attacks. Greenville’s “Pillars of Community” include eight bronze statues representing faith, family, health, education, enterprise, art, teamwork and patriotism.
