The 23 String Band

The 23 String Band started in the Cumberland Valley portion of Kentucky, performing hillbilly music to its highest standards. Weaving in and out of old-time, bluegrass and acoustic roots or anything else that strikes them as interesting, it’s not uncommon to hear a Beastie Boys cover show up in a set. Using banjo, guitar, fiddle and mandolin as the vehicle, the band’s energetic style features original compositions as well as the forgotten and obscure numbers from times past.
