The Louisville Orchestra
String Quintet
The Louisville Orchestra String Quintet has been performing together for two years. In that short time, they have enthralled audiences with the superior quality of their performances. The String Quintet performs a wide variety of music, from Vivaldi to contemporary composers such as John Deak. While the quintet enjoys performing for the public, they have devoted much of their time and energy to the Louisville Orchestra’s MakingMUSIC program, a partnership between the orchestra and the local schools that brings classical performances to every fourth and fifth grader in the Louisville Metro area. The individual performers are all full-time members of the Louisville Orchestra, and bring a high standard of excellence to the group. They have studied at prestigious institutions such as the Curtis Institute, USC and Yale and have performed with many different orchestras around the country, including the Chatauqua Symphony Orchestra, the National Repertory Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra. All members of the group are active chamber musicians and teachers.
