Richard Goering
Classical guitarist Richard Goering was moved to play the guitar after seeing the Beatles’ first television performances. Two years later, after watching films of Andres Segovia masterclasses in Santiago de Compostela, he began to study classical guitar. His passionate performance of music from the Renaissance to the present day prompted one critic to write, “the guitar is for our time but it is also for all time.” (Louisville Courier Journal)
Comfortable in traditional and nontraditional venues, Mr. Goering has performed to enthusiastic responses in the U.S. and internationally, solo and with other instrumentalists.
“Beautiful sounds, elegant, well constructed phrases.” (Corriere della Sera, Rome)
"Equally at home with the music of Ellington, Bonfa, the Beatles and Clapton, his arrangements and improvisations move audiences ... rhythmic verve.” (American Record Guide)
