Looking for Lilith
Looking for Lilith Theatre Company (LFL) is a women's ensemble theatre based in Louisville, Ky. LFL is dedicated to re-examining history from women's perspectives and creating original performance pieces based on that examination. LFL's work is created entirely from primary source materials, including letters, diaries, essays, newspaper articles and oral histories of women reflecting on their experiences of important events in both national and personal history. "Crossing Mountains: One Hundred Years of Education and Change in the Kentucky Mountains." This five person ensemble piece chronicles the story of The Hindman Settlement School in Knott County, Ky. through the voices of the women who started the school over 100 years ago, as well as the voices of those who keep the settlement running today.
"What My Hands Have Touched: U.S. Women in World War II." This three-person touring production shares the stories of women's experiences during WWII, as factory workers, pilots, military personnel, USO performers and homefront heroes.
"Women Speak: IRAQ." This powerful one-woman show is comprised entirely of interviews with women reflecting on their experiences with the Iraq War. Perspectives include military women, peace activists and Iraqi women.
