George J. McGee (actor) is Director of Theatre at Georgetown College, Georgetown, Ky. He has been performing "Kentucky’s Greatest Statesman, Henry Clay" for the Kentucky Humanities Council since 1996. McGee says one of his proudest accomplishments of his career came when he presented"‘Henry Clay" at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., as part of the Kentucky Humanities Council’s production of "Our Lincoln: Kentucky’s Gift to the Nation."

McGee’s undergraduate degree in drama is from Illinois Wesleyan University, where he studied under Harold Saul Guskin. He received his Master of Fine Arts at Florida Atlantic University. In addition to his extensive experience in live theatre, McGee has appeared in numerous television commercials, industrial and commercial films, and two network miniseries. McGee also served as the artistic director for the Palm Beach Children’s Theatre and the Georgetown Children’s Theatre. Recent directing assignments include "A Mid-Summer Night’s Dream," David Auburn’s "Proof," and "You Can’t Take With You." His play, A Fence for Martin Maher, co-written with award-winning Irish playwright, John McArdle, toured Kentucky as part of the Smithsonian Institution and Kentucky Humanities Council traveling exhibit “Between Fences.” The play, set in Kilkenny, Ireland, was invited to be part of Ireland’s 2009 National Heritage Week. McGee is currently working on his adaptation of Moliere’s "The Doctor in Spite of Himself," to be presented this fall at Georgetown College.
