Kentucky Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial KAC Grants

The national Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Celebration officially kicks off on February 12, 2008 in Hodgenville, Kentucky, the birthplace of Abraham Lincoln. This two-year nationwide celebration will honor our nation’s great 16th president. The Kentucky Arts Council has grant funding available through the Kentucky Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission (KALBC) to commemorate   the   contributions   of   Abraham Lincoln and celebrate the bicentennial of his birth in Kentucky through the arts. The Commission’s focus is to ensure that Lincoln's ties to Kentucky, as his birthplace and childhood home, are celebrated and appreciated.

The mission of the KALBC is to commemorate, in conjunction with the National Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission, the 200th anniversary of Lincoln’s birth, emphasizing Kentucky’s contributions to his thoughts and ideals, and to serve as a coordinator of statewide efforts to convey Lincoln’s Kentucky story and his legacy of freedom, democracy, and equal opportunity for all. Grant funding is now available through the Kentucky Arts Council and other state agencies including the Kentucky Humanities Council, the Kentucky Historical Society and the Kentucky Heritage Council. The Kentucky Arts Council has two main Lincoln grant programs; the Abraham Lincoln Product Development grant and the Abraham Lincoln Project grant.
