2002 and 2004 KAC Individual Artists Fellowship Recipients Art Exhibit

Every year the Kentucky Arts Council awards professional artists Al Smith Fellowships to recognize and encourage artistic excellence in Kentucky. The fellowships, named for KET's "Comment on Kentucky" host and former Arts Council chair (1977-1980) Al Smith, alternate between two discipline groupings: visual and media artist in one year and writers, composers, choreographers, and interdisciplinary artists in the other. This virtual gallery includes images of the work of 23 visual and media artists awarded fellowships in 2002 or 2004, and is on exhibit at the Gallery at Actors Theatre from November 27, 2004 until January 29, 2005. The gallery is open concurrent with the theatre schedule and two hours prior to curtain time.

The following artists (not represented in this exhibit) are also Al Smith Fellowship recipients:
2002- Louis Zoellar Bickett II, Bruce Burris, Kurt Gohde, Sharon Howerton Leightty, &
Ari Luis Palos
2004- Matthew Weddington
