Save the Date: 2025 Kentucky Writers’ Day Planning Guide

Join the Kentucky Arts Council in commemorating the literary arts with the 2025 Kentucky Writers’ Day Planning Guide, a free download available on the KAC website. The Planning Guide offer suggested activities for planning a local event to celebrate all Kentucky Writers during the month of April, which is also National Poetry Month. 

Kentucky Writers’ Day is Friday, April 24, the birthday of Robert Penn Warren. The first U.S. Poet Laureate, Warren was the author of the novel, All the King’s Men, and a three-time Pulitzer Prize recipient in fiction and poetry. He was born in Guthrie (Todd County), Kentucky. 

The Kentucky Arts Council’s 2025 Kentucky Writers’ Day celebration will be April 24, 10 a.m. Eastern, at the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History in Frankfort and will feature the induction of the Kentucky Poet Laureate 2025 through 2026 and readings from Silas House, Kentucky Poet Laureate 2023 through 2024.
