The Kentucky Arts Council will offer a free webinarWednesday, April 1, 2 p.m. Eastern. Join attorney Yuha Jung to discusscommon contract traps for individuals in the creative sector.
Contracts are a routine part of creative work, but they often contain terms that can quietly shift risk, limit rights, or create long-term obligations that individuals may not fully anticipate. This workshop examines common contract provisions that frequently create problems for artists and creative professionals, including clauses related to ownership, payment, termination, exclusivity, and dispute resolution. Through practical examples and plain-language explanations, participants will learn how to identify potential red flags, understand how specific terms operate in practice, and approach negotiations with greater clarity and confidence. The workshop emphasizes practical awareness and informed decision-making to help participants protect their work, their income, and their professional relationships.
