Discover the process of creating impactful art experiences in schools. Artist Grace Henderson will share her journey of becoming a Kentucky Arts Council teaching artist, and the many things she has learned along the way. Topics will include building connections with educators, designing effective lesson plans, preparing for a residency day, and managing the operational tasks of running a small business.

About the Presenter

Grace Henderson lives in Knott County and has over thirty years of experience teaching math and art in K-12 schools. She started her business, Just a Little Artsy, in 2017 when she began offering group paint classes to students of all ages. Grace creates paint classes that are designed for anyone, artistic or not, which can be tailored to the needs, skill and maturity level of the group. Grace has created a variety of art-integrated lessons that teach core content by engaging students in a variety of media and techniques. Individualized lesson plans can be designed to fit the curriculum and are a great way to teach math, science, and ELA concepts.
