The Kentucky Arts Council will host a Creative Industry Summit Series webinar October 20 at 5 p.m. Eastern. 

Join Academic Program Consultant Jessica Greene to take a closer look at the Anchor Standards and their unifying elements. Participants will reflect on their own personal milestones in music education. Process components and their purpose as actionable milestones for students will also be explored.

With a bachelor’s degree in vocal music Education from Berea College and a master’s in conducting from Eastern Kentucky University, Jessica Greene has always had a passion for arts education and a goal to positively impact the lives of as many students and teachers as possible through her focus on access to the arts. Jessica earned her Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Kentucky, where she earned her principal and superintendent certifications. Jessica is now an academic program consultant at the Kentucky Department of Education, where she focuses on implementation of the Visual and Performing Arts Standards as part of the Office of Teaching and Learning. Her teaching career began in Nicholasville, where she taught choir, media arts, and other arts courses. Jessica held the inaugural position of district arts coordinator, where she worked with all thirteen Jessamine County schools and their arts programs in a coaching capacity. Jessica has also had the rare honor of being on the teaching and administrative teams that developed and opened three new schools in the Fayette County Public School System. Outside of education, Jessica collaborates with many theatre companies as a performer, music director, and producer. She spends as much time as possible enjoying the arts with her husband and two young children.
