Mark Lenn Johnson, a Lexington native, has dedicated his career to supporting Kentucky’s entrepreneurs. After starting in banking, he transitioned to the non-profit sector with Community Ventures’ Microlending program and later oversaw the Commonwealth’s Small Business Services Division. During this time, he began pursuing his passion for art. Returning to Community Ventures, Johnson managed its business and mortgage lending programs and founded Art Inc. Kentucky, a non-profit to help artists grow their businesses. His own artistic journey, especially in glassmaking, continued to thrive. In 2016, Johnson showcased his abstract paintings at a major New York art show and exhibited his photography at the Louvre in Paris. Later that year, he was named one of the Top 60 Contemporary Artists at an international event in Florence. In 2021, his Fountainfalls Waterdrop Series earned him Photographer of the Year honors. His work is displayed in private collections and at Eastern Kentucky University’s John Grant Crabbe Main Library.
